Ludhiana Covid fatality count touches 3,000-mark

The cumulative count of Covid cases in Ludhiana since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 1,12,155, of which 1,08,830 patients have recovered and 3,000 succumbed to the virus. There were 325 active cases in the district on Tuesday.

One more person succumbed to Covid-19 in Ludhiana in the last 24 hours, taking the toll so far to 3,000. As many as 66 persons also tested positive for the virus, as per the health bulletin released on Tuesday.

The latest fatality is a 27-year-old male from Nirankar Mohalla in Miller Ganj area.

The cumulative case count since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 1,12,155, of which 1,08,830 patients have recovered and 3,000 succumbed to the virus. There were 325 active cases in the district on Tuesday, of which 308 were under home isolation while the rest are admitted in different hospitals.

Appealing to residents to get the booster shots of the Covid vaccine, the administration also urged them to take precautions and adopt Covid-appropriate behavior while moving out.

No monkeypox case in dist as of now

Amid rising concerns over monkeypox virus across the globe, Ludhiana civil surgeon Dr Hitinder Kaur stated that no case of monkeypox has been reported in the district till now.

She stated that the virus can be transmitted to humans through a person or animal who is infected. High temperature, headache, muscle aches, backache, swollen glands, exhaustion are among the symptoms and residents should immediately consult the doctors if they witness the symptoms.
