International para table tennis player Shubham Wadhwa expressed gratitude to the district administration and others for generous sponsorship, which played a crucial role in his recent success as he clinched a silver medal at the ITTF World Para Elite Taipei City 2026, in mixed doubles and a bronze medal in men’s singles (class 3) held from May 17 to May 21 in Taipei city, Taiwan.
Wadhwa, a 10-time national gold medalist with 17 international medals to his credit, is currently ranked world number 11 in mixed doubles and asian number 4. He has done his training from an academy in Surat, Gujarat.
“I am deeply thankful to deputy commissioner Himanshu Jain, assistant commissioner Payal Goyal, Dewaker Jain from Prime Steel Processor, Harleen Kaur from Act Humane Foundation, secretary of Red Cross Society Navneet Joshi for their unwavering support. This encouragement gave me the confidence and resources to compete at the highest level in Spain,” Wadhwa said.
He added that the support has strengthened his resolve ahead of major upcoming events, including the Asian Games and the world championships in Thailand.
