Two youths had a narrow escape after a speeding Toyota Fortuner crashed into the railing and a selfie point at Bharat Nagar Chowk in Ludhiana late on Sunday night.
According to information, the SUV was coming from the direction of Mall Road towards Bharat Nagar Chowk when the driver reportedly lost control due to overspeeding at around 12:30 am.
The vehicle rammed into the three-foot-high railing at the chowk and then struck a selfie point installed at the spot.
The impact caused significant damage to the front portion of the vehicle while parts of the railing and the selfie point at the junction were also damaged.Passersby present at the spot rushed to help and pulled out the two occupants of the car, including the driver. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and initiated an investigation into the incident.
