Nominations for Panchkula MC polls to begin from April 21

The state election commission, Haryana, has announced the schedule for the general elections to the posts of mayor and ward members of the municipal corporation, Panchkula.

Polling will be held on May 10 from 8am to 6pm. If required, re-polling will take place on May 12. (HT File)

Returning officer-cum-estate officer, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Surender Lather, said that nomination papers will be accepted from April 21 to April 25 between 11am and 3pm.

He said scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on April 27 from 11.30am. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 28 between 11am and 3pm, following which election symbols will be allotted to the contesting candidates after 3pm on the same day.

Lather added that the final list of contesting candidates, along with polling station details, will also be published on April 28.

Polling will be held on May 10 from 8am to 6pm. If required, re-polling will take place on May 12. The counting of votes will be conducted on May 13 from 8am onwards at a venue to be notified by the deputy commissioner. The results will be declared immediately after counting is complete.
