One dead, one injured in boiler blast in Rohtak

A 54-year-old worker died and another suffered burn injuries in a boiler blast at a manufacturing unit in Rohtak on Wednesday, police said.

A spokesman of Rohtak police said that the injured was rushed to PGIMS and the victim’s body was sent for autopsy, adding a case will be registered after recording the statement of injured. (File)

The deceased has been identified as Satbir Singh, of Bahu Akbarpur village in Rohtak, and his colleague Rajesh Kumar of Bihar was injured.

Deepak Kumar, a neighbour said that suddenly a boiler blast took place at a manufacturing unit in Rohtak and neighbours rushed to the spot.

“Satbir was working on a machine and Rajesh was melting iron rods when the incident took place. Suddenly a pipeline leaked which led to a blast in a boiler,” he added.

A spokesman of Rohtak police said that the injured was rushed to PGIMS and the victim’s body was sent for autopsy, adding a case will be registered after recording the statement of injured.
