The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Jind police arrested a criminal on Tuesday in connection with firing incident outside a cloth shop in Narwana on December 14 and demanding an extortion of ₹50 lakh from the shop owner.

Narwana CIA in-charge Sukhdev Singh said that they arrested the accused Anoop, a resident of Belarkha village after exchange of fire from near Datta Wala village border in the district.
“Anoop fired shots at us and a bullet also hit my bullet-proof jacket. In retaliation, when we returned the fire, the accused was injured in the leg. He is currently undergoing treatment in a civil hospital and is out of danger,” Singh added.
He further said that the accused had fired shots outside the shop of businessman Naresh Jain in Narwana and demanded an amount of ₹50 lakh.
