Kharar’s Sadar police have registered a case against the unidentified man who was driving the car that ran over two persons, killing one of them, in Dau Majra village near Kharar on Monday night, officials said on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Vikas Yadav, 30, an employee of a private bank who lived in Ropar, and the injured was Rohit Kumar, 22, a biker.
Vikas was declared dead on arrival while the condition of Rohit was stated to be serious by doctors at the Sector-32 government hospital, where he was referred.

The first information report (FIR) has been registered under sections 279 (rash driving), 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
The accident had taken place on March 20 around 9pm near a fuel station in Dau Majra.
The police have handed over the body of Vikas to his family members after autopsy.
