A 27-year-old Punjab woman, Amanpreet Saini, was found murdered in a park in Canada’s Ontario.

Amanpreet’s body was found with traumatic injuries at Charles Daley Park in Lincoln, Ontario, on October 21, police in the Niagara region said on Friday. A case has been registered, they added. Amanpreet, who hails from Prem Basti in Sangrur, had been residing in Canada for the past four years.
The family was informed about the death by Amanpreet’s elder sister, who also resides in Ontario. The sister had filed the initial missing person report, said police.
Cops said they have identified a male suspect in connection with the murder. A Canada-wide warrant is being sought for Manpreet Singh, 27, of Brampton, on a charge of second-degree murder. Police say investigators have information that suggests the suspect may have fled the country shortly after Saini’s body was found. Police believe it was a targeted incident and there’s no ongoing threat to public safety.
Amanpreet moved to Canada for studies and was working in a nursing hospital. She had applied for permanent residency (PR) after completing her studies.
