Punjab govt committed to bringing governance at people’s doorsteps: Bhagwant Mann

Kicking off government’s initiative “Sarkar Tuhade Dwar” from Dhuri legislative constituency, chief minister Bhagwant Mann said this step will “further revolutionise the entire governance system” by ensuring delivery of citizen-centric services at doorsteps of people.

“This is a path-breaking initiative aimed at making bureaucracy directly accountable to the people thereby empowering them” said the CM, while addressing a gathering.

Mann said that this initiative will empower people and will prove to be a gamechanger by ensuring optimal usage of human resources as well as the timely implementation of various welfare programs. Mann said with this initiative people will not have to run from pillar to post for getting services in government offices.

The CM said that Dhuri will be developed as a model constituency across the state with ultra-modern health care and other basic facilities. Mann said the issue of Dhuri Sugar Mill will be resolved soon and interests of farmers will be safeguarded.

Mann said that natural water resources like Ghaggar will be revived with strengthening of the embankments of these precious sources. Likewise he said that timely desilting and cleaning of these water resources will be ensured so that maximum utilisation of canal and surface water is ensured.

Expressing grave concern on farm fire incidents, CM said that this is very unfortunate that some farmers do not hesitate to burn wheat crop residue. Mann appealed farmers’ organisations not to launch agitations without a valid reason.

Highlighting the efforts of his government to ensure uninterrupted power supply during upcoming paddy season, Mann said that all arrangements have been made to meet the demand of peak season. He informed that coal that would last for 40 days has already been reserved in every public sector thermal plant and agreements have been inked with other states to meet the high demand of in ensuing paddy season. Mann also informed that 20,200-crore have already been reimbursed to PSPCL against the subsidy of various sectors.

CM announced a Trauma Centre for Dhuri besides upgradation of existing hospital with ultra-modern treatment facilities.
