Thieves are on prowl in Panchkula, as within two days, a car, an auto-rickshaw, 12 crates of milk, and a mobile were stolen from public places in the city.

One complainant, Avtari Singh of Sector 10, who owns a grocery shop in Sector 10 market stated in the FIR that at around 2.30 am, his milk supplier has kept 12 crates of milk outside his shop, but were stolen by two youths, who came in a Maruti Sedan. The cost of the milk crates is said to be around ₹12,000.
A case under Section 379 (theft) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Sector 5 police station on Sunday.
In addition, unidentified accused decamped with a mobile phone from a public place. An FIR was registered on Monday after complainant Raghubir Singh wrote a complaint to SSP that no FIR was registered by the police station.
In another theft case, a car parked outside a park in Sector 15 was stolen. In his complaint, Surinder Kumar, of Sector 15, told the police that he had parked his Maruti Zen in front of a park near his house, but in the morning, the car was missing. An FIR has been lodged under Section 379 (theft) at Sector 14 police station.
The same police station received another complaint of an auto theft on Sunday. Complainant, Jaswinder of Rajiv Colony, Sector 17, stated that on December 10, he had parked his auto near a bridge, but the next morning at around 5 am, he found the vehicle was stolen. A complaint at Sector 14 police station was registered on Sunday.
