Two people were killed after their vehicle rammed into a truck in Mandi on Tuesday, police officials said.
The accident occurred in the Nagchala area on Chandigarh–Manali National Highway when a motorcycle rammed into the rear of a truck. The deceased have been identified as Rajiv Kumar and Pradeep Kumar, both residents of the Nanawan area in Mandi district.
According to the police, the mishap occurred around 11 a.m. The injured motorcycle riders were rushed to Nerchowk Medical College for treatment. However, both succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Post-mortem examinations of the deceased were conducted and the bodies were handed over to their families.
Police officials said that a case has been registered under Sections 281 and 125(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident is underway.
