: Farmer leaders under the banner of Haryana Sanyukt Kisan Morcha on Monday said they would boycott all the political events of deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala in Uchana constituency of Jind till October 29 for ‘failing’ to address their issues.

The farmers, who have been sitting on dharna outside Dushyant’s office in Uchana Kalan since October 9, said they have ended their protest.

“He has failed to interact with farmers and raise their issues. We will boycott all his programmes till October 29 and the next course of action will be decided, if he fails to meet the farmers during this period,” farmer leader from Uchana, Azad Singh Palwa, who is also an active Congress leader in Jind, said.

The farmers have been demanding 25,000 per acre relief for farmers who sowed paddy again, ban on all types of recovery from farmers for one year, relief in power bills of tubewell connections for one year, permanent solution to waterlogging issues, special girdwari for kharif crops damaged in 2023 and a compensation amount of 50,000 per acre, ban on monopoly of insurance companies, release of compensation for cotton crops damaged due to pink bollworm in 2021, free power up to 200 units, legal guarantee on MSP, and other demands.
