Woman found dead with hands tied in Hisar

An unidentified woman was found murdered with her hands tied and mouth gagged by cloth in Hisar on Sunday morning, police said.

According to the police, the deceased, believed to be around 40 years old, has “Paso Rani” and “Seema Rani” tattooed on one of her hands.

Locals spotted the body while passing through agricultural fields near a factory close to the Ramayana Toll Plaza. They immediately alerted the police and the body was taken for the postmortem.

Preliminary findings suggest she may have been strangled to death, police added.

The body has been shifted to the Civil Hospital in Hisar and preserved for identification and post-mortem examination.

Police have started the investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the Ramayana Toll Plaza, nearby roads, and surrounding industrial establishments to trace suspicious vehicles and individuals linked to the crime.

Sadar police station SHO Ishwar Singh said efforts are underway to identify the deceased, adding that police are waiting for the postmortem report and the motive behind the murder can only be established after the victim is identified.
