New Delhi The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will upload the maps of 400-odd unauthorised colonies, using satellite images, of the 1,728 on its web portal by mid-November. Residents will be given 15 days to submit their suggestions/objections with regard to the boundaries fixed by the landowning agency.
Tarun Kapoor, the vice-chairman of the DDA, said, “We have prepared the maps of 200-odd unauthorised colonies so far. We will upload the maps with boundaries of 400-odd colonies in the next 15 days. The boundaries will be finalised after we receive suggestions/objections from people.”
The landowning agency has to complete the process of fixing the boundaries within three months.
Meanwhile, the DDA has asked all residents of the 1,728 unauthorised colonies to update their documents regarding sale/purchase of the property. “We will accept only the last General Power of Attorney transaction while conferring ownership rights. Property owners should get the documents in order,” said Kapoor.
Once the boundaries are fixed, the DDA will open a web portal to start the process of giving ownership rights. Kapoor said, “A web portal will be set up in the next three months, by January-end or February, to initiate the process.”
On the web portal, which will be managed by the DDA, a property owner can apply for ownership rights and make a partial payment based on self-calculation of the amount to be paid.

{{/usCountry}}Explaining the process, Kapoor said, “After we receive the application, a team of officials will do the site inspection. The amount payable will be finalised after the inspection. After the payment of the amount, the DDA will execute a conveyance deed, based on which property owners can get the property registered with the Delhi government.”
