A 32-year-old habitual snatcher, accused of allegedly committing four snatchings within 40 minutes in east Delhi earlier this month, has been arrested from near his house in Jagatpuri.

Police said six stolen mobile phones and a scooter have been recovered from Musab Mustaq. He was previously involved in at least 56 cases of snatching, robbery and Arms Act and was last released from jail in July.
Deputy commissioner of police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said that on December 6, four separate calls were made consecutively regarding snatching of mobile phones at the Vivek Vihar, Farsh Bazar and Anand Vihar police stations.
“A team from the anti-snatching and burglary cell launched ‘Street Shield’ operation and found that the accused would commit the snatchings and flee towards Karkari Mor traffic signal. He had covered the front and rear number plates of the vehicle with mud to evade arrest,” said Gautam.
Following a tip-off Mustaq was arrested from outside his house last week.
