Around 19,779 public grievances were resolved by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) during the first six months of 2026, with the number of complaints falling from 22,946 in January to 3,167 by the end of June, officials said.

According to officials, the improvement follows directions from the Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu to adopt a citizen-centric approach and dispose of complaints promptly.

“We have adopted a system of continuous monitoring, regular reviews and accountability to ensure grievances are resolved in a transparent and time-bound manner. The focus will remain on strengthening the grievance redressal mechanism through technology-enabled monitoring, public hearings and follow-ups,” the official said.

As part of the initiative, DDA has been conducting public hearings twice on Mondays and Thursdays at its offices, allowing residents to meet officials without prior appointments. Deputy directors and directors are available between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm, while commissioners and senior officers interact with citizens between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm. Officials said around 6,000 people visit DDA offices every month during these public hearing sessions.
