CBSE hands Class 10 board exam results over to schools
A circular issued by the CBSE added that only the theory performance had been communicated since schools already had information about the practical/internal assessment
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday said it has passed the performance results of the Class 10 Term-1 board exam to schools, even as many school officials claimed that they are still awaiting the results of the internal marks to arrive at the final Term-1 score.

“The board is informing schools only about the theory performance of their students of Class 10 in a collective manner. Hence, the performance of individual students will not be available on the website,” said Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE examination controller, in a circular issued on Friday.
A circular issued by the CBSE added that only the theory performance had been communicated since schools already had information about the practical/internal assessment.
In view of the pandemic, CBSE had announced a two-term board exam last year, with Term 1 featuring a 90-minute test in the multiple-choice questions (MCQ) format. The Term-2 theory examinations will begin on April 26 and will comprise two-long hour subjective examination. The board also said the weightage given to the Term-I and II performances will be decided at the time of declaration of the Term II result.
Schools received the scorecard from the board late Friday night and many shared it with students on Saturday.
Sudha Acharya, the chairperson of the National Progressive School Conference (NPSC) that has over 120 Delhi schools as members, said the school had shared the theory scorecard with students. “We have communicated the theory scores out of 40 that we have received from the CBSE. We have not shared the internal marks since the board has not communicated the same with us, even though we uploaded the internal marks to the CBSE portal,” said Acharya, who is also the principal of ITL Public School, Dwarka.
Tania Joshi, principal of The Indian School, said the school had shared the theory performance with students since parents had started asking for it. “We uploaded the result on our website that we received from CBSE. Parents were a little anxious and asking for the result, so we shared it to avoid any confusion,” said Joshi.
Many schools, however, are yet to share the result.
Awadhesh Kumar Jha, principal, Sarvodaya Co-ed Vidyalaya, Rohini, Sector 8, said the school was planning to hold a small orientation session before sharing the result on Monday. “We do not want children to panic during the weekend since they have a pre-board exam on Monday. We will tell them about the result on Monday along with subject teachers and discuss the performance,” said Jha.
BK Sharma, principal of the Shaheed Hemu Kalani Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Lajpat Nagar, said the results will not be shared with students. “There was confusion among the students till Saturday morning because they were hoping to check the results individually. The final results will be shared with students after the Term II exam,” said Sharma.
