Delhi government allocates ₹265 crore for upgrading 75 CM SHRI Schools, enhancing facilities, accessibility, and campus appearance by next year.

New Delhi: The Delhi government has approved repair, upgradation and development of new facilities at 75 CM SHRI Schools.

The chief minister said school entrance gates will be redesigned and upgraded, with a display of the new CM SHRI logo.

The expenditure finance committee, led by chief minister Rekha Gupta, approved a proposal of around ₹265 crore for the project.

“Seepage and dampness in school buildings will be addressed through waterproofing, painting and plaster repair,” she added.

Toilets and drinking water facilities will be upgraded along with improvement in sewerage and drainage systems.

The chief minister said ramps, tactile paths and handrails will be developed for children with special needs. CCTV system, compound lighting and sports grounds will also be upgraded.

Gupta said the project will transform the appearance of school campuses. Modern outdoor galleries will be developed in playgrounds for use as outdoor classrooms, recreation spaces and for collaborative learning, she said, adding that the target is to complete the work by end of next year.
