Police said the bus was on its way from Rajasthan's Jaipur with around 25 passengers on board.

Officials said they were informed about the accident at 1:08 am, after which multiple teams were rushed to the spot for rescue operations. The injured passengers were pulled out of the overturned vehicle and shifted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Police have initiated a probe to determine the sequence of events leading to the accident.

The accident comes weeks after a private double-decker bus rammed into a moving van on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, killing at least six people. The bus was travelling from Delhi to Gorakhpur and the accident occurred when the bus driver was attempting to overtake the Eeco van, police had said.
