After SC verdict, Kejriwal meets Delhi LG to seek his ‘blessings’

Hours after the Supreme Court judgment regarding administrative services in Delhi on Thursday, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he called on lieutenant governor (LG) VK Saxena to “seek his blessings”.

“I am going to seek the blessings of the LG,” Kejriwal said. AAP said that the CM spent around 15 minutes at the LG residence Raj Niwas. However, AAP functionaries did not clarify the outcome of the meeting. HT reached out to the LG office, which did not respond to queries regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, the CM was given a grand welcome at the Delhi secretariat by AAP functionaries, where he arrived after the SC judgment. Several party leaders and workers gathered outside the secretariat, where Kejriwal was honoured with garlands even as AAP ministers distributed sweets celebrating the SC verdict.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh and several MLAs also visited the CM office in the secretariat.

Later, the CM held a meeting with all the cabinet ministers at the secretariat. “It was a general meeting and routine governance matters were discussed. The main point of discussion during the meeting was the future strategy of the government in light of this transformative decision,” said an official at the secretariat.
