The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a notice to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), to reply to allegations of an unauthorised garbage dhalao operating in Greater Kailash Enclave-II, on land earmarked as a children’s park

The applicant in the case had alleged that an unauthorized Dhalao was being operated next to houses in GK-2’s E block, and that it was encroaching on part of a children’s park in the colony.
The applicant had also stated that an “approved dhalao” in the area had been closed by the MCD earlier, and submitted the minutes of a Bhagidari scheme meeting held on November 24, 2011, in which it was reportedly decided to close the disputed dhalao, but not action was taken.
The MCD has sought four weeks to reply, which the NGT has granted. The next hearing in the case is on September 2, 2026.
