Two men were injured after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Mercedes near Mehta Chowk in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden late on Tuesday night, police said.

The accident occurred around 12.30am near the Bharat Petroleum petrol pump when a TVS Radeon motorcycle was allegedly struck by a Mercedes car. The impact threw the two riders off the bike, leaving both injured.
The victims were identified as Mohammed Sufiyan, 21, and Mohammed Azam, 22, both residents of Delhi. Police said the two suffered fractures in their left legs and were taken to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The accused fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle.
A case under sections 281 and 125(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, for rash driving and causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety, has been registered at the Rajouri Garden police station.
Both vehicles involved have been seized. The mobile crime team inspected the site, and details of the offending vehicle have been obtained. Police said efforts are underway to identify the car’s driver and ascertain the exact cause of the crash.
