However, the police refused to give it to him, preferring it have it consigned to flames as there was no relative of Yadav present.

LK Gautam, another person claiming to be the lawyer of Ram Vriksh Yadav, said the body was not the cult leader’s. “I have seen photos of the body said to be that of Ram Vriksh Yadav. It does not match the features of Yadav whom I often met,” said Gautam.
