Over 500 people have been arrested over the past 26 days by Nuh police for crimes such as cattle smuggling, cybercrime, drug offences, theft, among others, police said on Saturday.

Officials said the drive which started in first week of April and ended by April end, was led by superintendent of police Arpit Jain, who also chaired a review meeting on Friday regarding the arrests.
According to police, three among the arrested are wanted criminals with rewards of ₹2,000 to ₹10,000; a history-sheeter, two members of a vehicle theft gang, 20 proclaimed offenders and five bail jumpers.
Police said that they have also increased monitoring of social media platforms and taken action against misleading posts such as misinformation, hate posts, communal hatred as a part of the drive.
Meanwhile, enforcement against traffic violations and public nuisance has also been stepped up, police said.
Senior officers said the drive would continue, adding that complaints of negligence or corruption within police forces would result in strict action.
