AC compressor explodes at Burger King outlet in Gurugram, triggers panic

The compressor of an air conditioner exploded at a Burger King outlet in Gurugram's Sector-14 market, triggering panic among customers and people in the surrounding area, police said on Sunday.

The blast, which occurred late Saturday night, shattered the restaurant's glass fixtures, scattering shards across the premises. Customers at nearby shops also rushed outside.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.

Following the explosion, locals and the restaurant management informed the police and fire brigade. A police patrol unit and fire brigade teams from the Bhimnagar fire station reached the spot.

As a precautionary measure, police and fire officials cleared people from the area surrounding the restaurant and brought the situation under control.

A senior police officer said the timely response helped avert a major accident.

Further investigation is underway, he said.
