Faridabad: Haryana 100, a centralised police control room that would attend calls from across the state will come up in Panchkula, said BS Sandhu, Haryana Director General of Police.
“This modern centralised police control room will receive complaints from across the state and the calls will be forwarded to respective police stations for immediate action,” Sandhu said while interacting with mediapersons in Faridabad on Thursday. This was his first visit to the city after taking over as DGP.
“New vehicles with GPS will be deployed at each police station to address such calls,” the DGP said, adding that random cross checking of all such complaints will be made to see how quickly police personnel responded.
He said the chief minister has already given approval for setting up such a control room. Under Haryana 100, dedicated vehicles would be allotted to police personnel and a call centre would also be established. It would attend to distress calls related to fire, ambulance, women safety and intelligence inputs.
The DGP said about 600 vehicles would be purchased besides other software and hardware.
