The Ballia health department has sought an explanation from a doctor in charge of the emergency ward and the paramedics staff after a video of an ambulance driver giving injection to a patient in the emergency ward of the district hospital went viral on social media.

Dr Diwakar Singh, chief medical superintendent (CMS), confirmed the content shown in the video, and said, “A notice has been served to the doctor who was the emergency in-charge on the day the incident took place and the other paramedical staff, seeking explanation. The incident was reported during night hours of November 23.”

The health department has taken a strong view and sought clarification from the officials concerned following the video.
