Lucknow Lucknow University (LU) on Sunday issued guidelines for the hostel inmates under which no hosteller will be allowed to host party and call outsider inside their hostels without prior permission from the provost or the chief provost. The guidelines were issued following a clash between two groups at Lal Bahadur Shastri hostel, recently.

“The police are probing the incident in which a few hostel inmates were injured,” an official said

According to the guidelines issued by the University’s dean students’ welfare office, the inmates have been asked not to call any outsider on the hostel premises. Only parents of inmates are allowed to meet their ward for a fixed duration of time after taking consent from the hostel provost. Under no circumstances, the inmates will be allowed to leave and enter the hostel after 10pm. The dinner time has also been scheduled between 7 pm and 9pm.

“Those inmates who are found guilty of violating the new guidelines, will face disciplinary action,” says Durgesh Srivastava, spokesperson of the LU, sharing details of the new guidelines for the university hostels.

Meanwhile, LU chief proctor Prof Rakesh Dwivedi, additional proctor OP Shukla and other proctorial members also inspected several hostels on the campus on late Sunday night and noticed certain anomalies, following which the aforesaid hostel guidelines were issued.
