After hearing a loud noise, locals rushed to the spot and took the people onboard the jeep to the hospital where six of them were declared dead on arrival while one succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

All the deceased were identified.

“Such was the impact that half of jeep was completely destroyed, the police had to use cutters to bring out the people,” said SP Banda Abhinandan.

“It appears the Bolero was going at a high speed and went out of control before ramming into the truck that was on the roadside”, he added.
