Union health minister visits Kashi Vishwanath temple, rides bicycle to give green message in Varanasi
Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya also attended the two-day conclave of Universal Health Coverage at Rudraksh Convention Centre, Varanasi, on Saturday and Sunday.
Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday visited Kashi Vishwanath temple and offered prayers.
He also took a bicycle ride for about five kilometres in the city, appealing to the people to use cycles to commute if their workplace is near their residence.
“Due to better facilities at the Kashi Vishwanath temple, people are coming in large numbers for worshipping. The visit has become much easier. People come to Kashi Vishwanath with great devotion. I have also offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple with my family,” Mandaviya said on the second day of his visit to Varanasi.
After taking the bicycle ride, along with hundreds of BJP workers, to give a message about staying healthy and also protecting the environment, Mandaviya said to the media, “A cycle ride was organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha here. We want to give the message that cycling helps us reduce pollution and traffic, and it also promotes health.”
“Cycling is not only the best exercise, but also it is a solution to pollution, and traffic. I want to give a message to the people that if your workplace is nearby or you have to travel near your residence, please do use a bicycle,” he added.

On the inaugural day, the health minister had said only a healthy society can build a prosperous country.
Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel had inaugurated the conclave virtually on Saturday.
