Yogi Adityanath says government schemes not for vote bank, but aimed at helping society achieve self-reliance

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said government schemes are not for vote bank, but a medium for the society to achieve self-reliance.

He urged educational institutions to create maximum awareness among the youngsters about government schemes.

Yogi Adityanath was participating in ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of a hostel at Mahamana Shikshan Sansthan run by Bhaurao Deoras Sewa Nyas in Lucknow.

“The public and particularly the youngsters must be aware of what the government is planning for them. A society can progress and achieve self-reliance only when it becomes a participant and moves ahead of the government,” he said.

He highlighted the various efforts of the state government towards bringing gender equality in the state.

“Kanya Sumangala Yojana is not only curbing female foeticide but, through a provision of ₹15,000 as a package from the government level, is enabling the daughters to achieve their dreams and fulfil all their essential needs. Schemes like Mission Indradhanush are eliminating gender bias by ensuring that the girl child gets proper healthcare,” he said.

Yogi Adityanath also said that the students aspiring to set up their startups must be made aware of the incentives given by the government and schemes like Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana and the ODOP (One District One Product).

He offered homage to Saint Ravidas on his birth anniversary and remembered Dr Bhaurao Deoras and Bharat Ratna Pandit Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya for their “unparalleled contribution” to the society.

“Dr Bhaurao Deorasji lived in Lucknow and actively contributed to the freedom movement of the country as a youth and citizen. He worked for the society which still inspires us while Bharat Ratna Pandit Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya was not only a prominent freedom fighter, but also an ardent advocate of every revolutionary. He was also a social reformer, and established the BHU (Banaras Hindu University) having new age courses in 1916 before an independent India and gave new leadership to the country and the society,” he added.

ABHYUDAYA COACHING

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said the Abhyudaya Coaching scheme was providing free coaching to aspiring youths of the state both through physical and virtual means. About 43 candidates qualified in the UP Public Service Commission through the Abhyudaya coaching and got selected.

“We are also making efforts to make youth technologically advanced through the provision of two crore tablets and smartphones,” he said.
