Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) sitting MLA from Kalyan (West) Narendra Pawar has decided to file two nominations on Friday, one as independent and other from the party.
“Giving in to my party workers’ demand, I have decided to file two nominations, as an independent as well as the party candidate. If the party gives me the AB form at the last moment, I will contest from the party, “said Pawar, who waited for the BJP to change the decision of giving away his seat to the Shiv Sena in the seat-sharing equation between the BJP-Sena alliance.
On Tuesday, six BJP party workers from Kalyan had sent their resignation letters to the party office after the Kalyan (West) seat was given to Shiv Sena.
Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena declared Vishwanath Bhoir, the president of Kalyan city for Shiv Sena, as its candidate for Kalyan (West) seat.
The Kalyan (West) seat was earlier a stronghold of the BJP, the party has lost this seat only in 2009 to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) won it.
