Navi Mumbai The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has initiated a special immunisation campaign for children upto two years old and pregnant women. The three-month long campaign, which began on March 7, will be conducted by 23 urban health posts (UHPs) in their respective areas. The second month drive will begin from April 4 and the third month drive from May 9. The drive will be conducted on days excluding Sunday, public holidays and regular vaccine days.

NMMC commissioner Abhijit Bangar, said, “Children born in March 2020 and thereafter will be eligible for the vaccine. Immunisation is very effective in curbing child mortality rate. To ensure that every child is immunised, our personnel will meet the child and mother a day before the vaccine is to be administered and will allay fears and hesitancy. We appeal to all residents to take advantage of the drive.”
