Mumbai: Parts of Kandivali East will face water cuts on Thursday due to replacement of old water pipelines in the area, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Saturday. The areas that will be affected by the water cut include Thakur village, Samta Nagar, Chikhalwadi, and Janu Pada.

The BMC is connecting a new 900-mm diameter water pipe alongside the existing 900-mm pipeline along the Western Express Highway in R South ward, and repairing the old pipeline at Thakur Sankul Dwar. Work will start at 1:30pm on Thursday, and go on till 7:30am on Friday. Hence, several neighborhoods will not receive water on Thursday, the BMC said, urging citizens to use water judiciously.
