Noida: Four men were arrested on Thursday in Noida for being allegedly involved in malfunctioning ATMs and fraudulently swapping cards in the National Capital Region, the police said, adding 67 ATM cards and four knives were seized from their possession.

Police identified the suspects as Pankaj Kumar, 41, Dharmendra, 32, Navlesh Singh, 39, and Gopal, 25, all originally from Bihar and residing in Phase 2, Noida
The arrests made with the help of electronic surveillance followed a complaint at the Phase 3 police station from a victim from Mamura area, stating that a fraud swapped his debit card at an ATM in Noida, and withdrew ₹50,000 cash.
“The suspects used to secretly apply tape at the cash dispensing slot before anyone visited the ATM for cash. When the target faced difficulty to withdraw money, one of the gang members inside the ATM would swap the card on the pretext of offering help after secretly noting the PIN code,” the Noida Police said in a statement.
