The 16th edition of the auto expo will see participation of over 114 industry stakeholders, including 48 vehicle manufacturers. The show is also expected to see over 75 vehicle launches and unveilings, including five global premieres, said officials.

The biennial automobile spectacle was last held in February 2020 and could not take place in 2022 because of Covid-19 pandemic.

“Every two years, the show is held in February but this time, as we are holding the show after skipping a scheduled year, and we could only get dates at the India Expo Mart venue for January,” said Rajesh Menon, director general, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the organiser of the show.

In 2020, the show saw a footfall of over 600,000 people. When asked whether the bitter January chill would discourage visitors this time, Menon said, “We do not think that will affect the footfall at all. In fact, we are expecting a footfall higher than that of 2020.”

This year’s motor show will comprise \three exclusive pavilions one of which is the ethanol pavilion where the working prototypes of Flex Fuel vehicle will be displayed by two- and four-wheeler manufacturers such as TVS Motor, Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Bajaj Auto, Yamaha Motor India, Suzuki Motorcycle India, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Toyota Kirloskar Motors, said officials.

The other pavilions include ”Super Car Pavilion”,which will display high-end luxury vehicles and the ”Vintage Car Pavilion“showcasing the vintage collections.

Further, the expo will see a high involvement of start-ups specialising in producing electric vehicles across all categories. “Whether it is an EV passenger vehicle, pure EV two- or three-wheelers, or pure EV commercial vehicle -- all will be on display at the show,” Menon said.

The timings of show will be from 11am to 8pm. On January 13, the show will be open only for business-exclusive ticket holders, with each ticket priced at 750. On January 14 and 15, the tickets are priced at 475 per ticket while on January 16,17 and 18, the tickets will cost you 350 each.

Apart from online portals, the tickets will be available at IEML Greater Noida box office and certain metro stations in Delhi NCR- Rajiv Chowk, Botanical Garden, Hauz Khas, Kashmere Gate, Huda City Centre, Mandi House, Sector 51 Noida and Knowledge Park-2, Greater Noida, organisers said.
