Ghaziabad: Two men were killed and three others injured when their car hit a divider on the Delhi-Meerut Road in Modinagar early on Thursday morning, police said.

Police identified the deceased as Ankit Tiwari, 27, a Loni resident, and Adesh Kumar Kasana, 30, a Meerut resident, while the injured were Kuldeep Kumar, 28, Adesh Pal, 32, and Himanshu (single name), 28, all hailing from Meerut.
An officer said the police received information about the incident from locals around 5.30am.
“A police team found the car badly damaged with four occupants inside the car, while one was lying outside. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two of them died.
ACP (Modinagar) Bhaskar Verma told HT that the victims were returning to Meerut from Ghaziabad in a hatchback, and the driver probably lost control, hitting the road divider.
Police are yet to receive a complaint about the incident.
The ACP said the injured were stable and that the car had been seized by the police.
“They had some work in Ghaziabad, and they took along Ankit Tiwari from Loni. Tiwari was driving the car,” Vipin Kumar, the brother-in-law of deceased Adesh Kasana, told HT.
