Ghaziabad: The police on Friday arrested the 32-year-old neighbour of a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly pushed to death by the suspect from the fourth floor of his residential building in Kaushambi’s Bovapur late Wednesday night.

“The suspect was arrested for murder based on circumstances leading to the death of the girl. We came across two witnesses who told police that they found the injured girl on the ground outside the residential building. The motive of the incident is still not clear, and an investigation is underway,” said ACP (Indirapuram) Suryabali Maurya.
The ACP said that, around 10pm on Wednesday, the girl had gone to the suspect’s house.
The girl’s mother had filed a police complaint, alleging that their 32-year-old neighbour had “pushed her in order to kill her.”
An FIR under BNS sections 109(1) (attempted murder) and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) was registered at the Kaushambi police station.
“After the girl succumbed to her injuries, BNS section 103(1) (murder) was added,” the ACP added.
The police said that the suspect, a native of Loni in Ghaziabad, is a divorcee and has been living alone in a rented flat in the residential building.
