Work on theme-based Ramayana Park to start in April in Ghaziabad
GDA seeks proposals for three theme parks, including a Ramayana park, with ₹42.83 crore investment. Work starts in April, aiming for cultural immersion.
The Ghaziabad development authority (GDA) has floated a request for proposal (RFP) to develop three major theme-based parks involving an investment of ₹42.83 crore, officials said on Thursday. One of the parks, with a theme based on the Ramayana, will come up over an area of 22,700 sqm at GDA’s Koyal Enclave housing scheme.

The two other parks are Sanskriti Darshan Park, be developed on a 10.3-acre site at the Hathi Park/Rani Avanti Bai Park in Indirapuram, and Greenwood Park, to be developed at the Nimbu Park, also in Indirapuram, over an area of 3.95 acres. Work on all three will begin in April.
“We have floated RFP for the three parks and will award the work in the next week or so. At least 75% of funds will be invested by GDA while the rest will be borne by a private agency. Entry to the themed areas will be ticketed, and GDA will monitor the levy of tickets,” said Atul Vats, vice-chairperson of the authority.
Officials of the Uttar Pradesh information department said that the master plan for the Ramayana Park has already been finalised. It will feature a 5D motion chair theatre and a mirror house, while installations such as holographic projections, a light and sound show, and artistic representations of Ramayana characters will be developed as part of the project.
“The Ramayana-themed park will integrate modern technology with India’s rich cultural heritage, offering an immersive journey into the epic. According to the master plan, the park will feature 45 artistic installations, including 15 sculptures of Ramayana characters. It will also include multimedia entertainment elements such as a mire or maze, holographic projections, a 5D motion chair theatre, and a children’s activity zone,” the department said in a statement.
According to the plan, the Sanskriti Darshan Park will feature a children’s activity area along with various public amenities besides the art installations made from recycled materials. The Greenwood Park will include food kiosks of a variety of cuisines.
Both parks will feature 22 unique art installations and are expected to be completed in six months. The Ramayana Park is expected to take a year to get complete.
