Haridwar: A 56-year-old parking manager was run over by a car after a quarrel over parking fees at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay multi-level parking lot near Har-ki-Pauri in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district on Saturday, police said.

The incident occurred at the parking facility located along National Highway (NH) 58 when the manager, identified as Sahdev Kumar, a resident of Bahadrabad, asked the driver of a Haryana-registered car to pay the parking fee.
The driver allegedly drove the vehicle over Kumar, leaving him critically injured, and fled the spot after the incident.
“We are identifying and tracing the accused who hit Kumar,” city police station in-charge Ritesh Shah said.
Kumar was taken to Himalayan Hospital in Jolly Grant, Dehradun, where he died during treatment.
“A case of murder has been registered against an unknown accused. CCTV footage is being analysed and police teams have launched a checking drive in the city and at border outposts to nab the accused,” Shah said.
