According to police, a call regarding a threat e-mail was received around 11.30am. “Bomb disposal squads and dog units conducted a thorough search of the premises and found nothing suspicious. We are looking into the matter, and a cyber team is trying to identify the accused,” the officer said.

The Assembly has received at least six bomb threats in the past 30 days.

Meanwhile, following the threat e-mail, Speaker Vijender Gupta again wrote a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha on Wednesday, calling the repeated threats a matter of grave concern and requesting immediate intervention.

“Repeatedly receiving threatening e-mails creates a sense of fear among the staff as well as dignitaries visiting the Assembly and its Hon’ble Members of the House,” he wrote.

The Speaker said the police have been unable to trace the accused behind sending the threatening e-mails, and called for immediate intervention and strict legal action against those responsible.

Gupta had also written to the police on Monday regarding the threat e-mails.
