Gulfaam Yadav murder case: Six held in Sambhal BJP leader’s killing
Six individuals - including the masterminds block chief Ravi Yadav and his father Mahesh Yadav—have been arrested and are set to be presented in court, said SP Krishan Kumar Bishnoi
In a major breakthrough, the Sambhal police have cracked the murder case of BJP leader Gulfaam Singh Yadav, who was allegedly killed by the current block chief and his father over election rivalry.

Six individuals - including the masterminds block chief Ravi Yadav and his father Mahesh Yadav—have been arrested and are set to be presented in court, said SP Krishan Kumar Bishnoi.
The murder took place on March 10, in Dabthara Himanchal village, under the Junawai police station limits. Gulfaam Singh Yadav was resting in his courtyard when three assailants arrived on a motorcycle. Gulfaam offered them water and was engaging them in conversation, when the accused allegedly injected a poisonous substance into his stomach.
Yadav succumbed to the poison en route to Aligarh Medical College. His son, Divya Prakash Yadav, lodged a complaint, leading to the registration of a case against Ravi Yadav, Mahesh Yadav, Dharamveer alias Dhamma, Mukesh Yadav, and two unidentified persons.
SP Sambhal constituted eight investigative teams, including units from Junawai and Gunnaur police stations, as well as surveillance and SOG teams. CCTV footage and CDR data analysis led to the arrest of Mukesh Yadav, whose interrogation unravelled the conspiracy. Subsequently, police apprehended Vikas, Ramnivas alias Narad, and Sudhir alias Pappu, recovering four mobile phones from the accused.
Investigations revealed a meticulously planned crime, hatched in Bareilly Central Jail on November 19, 2024.
Mahesh Yadav, father of block chief Ravi Yadav, met inmate Dharamveer alias Dhamma and struck a deal: funding his bail and legal appeals, costing ₹35,000, an additional ₹1 lakh for a tractor release. The murder, contracted for ₹5 lakh, was designed to appear as a natural death using a chemical injection procured by Neempal through Ramnivas alias Narad.
According to the police, on the night of March 9, Mahesh Yadav finalised the plan with Mukesh, Neempal, and Dharamveer at an abandoned brick kiln. The next day, Dharamveer, already at the scene, and Neempal injected the poison while Mukesh stood guard. Mahesh Yadav monitored from a distance, ready to assist. The trio fled on a white Apache motorcycle after the execution.
The motive stemmed from Gulfaam Yadav’s efforts to initiate a no-confidence motion against Ravi Yadav in the block chief elections, threatening Mahesh Yadav’s political influence. To eliminate this challenge, Mahesh orchestrated the murder.
Sudhir Kumar alias Pappu Yadav, husband of a former municipal chairperson, was also arrested for sheltering the accused.
SP Bishnoi confirmed the arrests of Mahesh Yadav, Ravi Yadav, Dharamveer, Mukesh Yadav, Vikas, Ramnivas alias Narad, and Sudhir alias Pappu near Haribaba Inter College, Junawai. “The murder of Gulfaam Singh Yadav was politically motivated due to electoral rivalry. The accused have been apprehended, and justice will be served,” Bishnoi stated.
