KGMU removes 5 employees for ‘selling meds in open market’

The decision to remove these employees was taken by the panel set by the KGMU administration to look into the matter. The panel also intends to initiate legal action against them.

LUCKNOW: The management of the city-based King George’s Medical University (KGMU) removed five contractual employees working with its hospital revolving fund (HRF) pharmacy on Monday. The development comes after one of these five workers was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh STF last week for selling medicine from the KGMU pharmacy in open market. Later, the four other sacked workers were also found to be involved in the same racket. All these five employees were hired on a contractual basis. The decision to remove these employees was taken by the panel set by the KGMU administration to look into the matter. The panel also intends to initiate legal action against them.
