On Tuesday morning, a team from the development authority reached Vishal Khand-2 area in Gomti Nagar and sealed the hotel. Arun Singh, executive engineer, LDA, said that a notice had earlier been served to the hotel owner for running the establishment on a residential plot in a residential area.

According to LDA officials, the hotel was being run illegally for the past several months in connivance with a few LDA employees. The latest development comes after the hotel management got into a brawl with an Army Major for playing loud music till the wee hours of Monday.

Army Major Abhijeet Singh, who lives near the hotel, had requested the hotel management to turn down the music as his two-year-old son was not well. This led to an altercation between Singh and the hotel management. Around 3 am on Monday, five persons from the hotel came to Singh’s residence and set his car on fire.
