The Special Task Force (STF) from Lucknow on Wednesday raided trans-Yamuna areas of Prayagraj and arrested eight persons including four school managers for aiding the use of unfair means in the Lekhpal recruitment examination held on July 31, officials said on Thursday.

It has now come to fore that besides Chetna Girls Intermediate College in Kareli, many managers of schools in Naini were involved in helping some aspirants during the examination in return for money, they added.
Answer keys and names of many aspirants were found in the mobile phones of the arrested school managers, police said.
Circle officer, STF, Deepak Kumar said that the managers of four schools in trans-Yamuna Prayagraj helped aspirants during the Lekhpal recruitment examination. They took ₹5 to 10 lakh each from the aspirants. The aspirants were asked to wear clothes of selected colours as a code for identification. As soon as the question papers were distributed, solvers were sent a photograph of it.
The kingpin of the solver gang one Amit Katiyar was present in Prayagraj with the solvers. He provided the answer key of the solved papers at the different examination centres where at least 40 to 50 aspirants were helped. The STF team is also sending a report to the administration.

Four other persons arrested are Ranu Yadav, Pankaj Tiwari, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Lakhendra Rajbhar.

Later, an FIR was lodged against school principal Shabnam Parveen, her son and school manager Shaban Ahmad and two others. However, the other son of the principal, Kashan Ahmad and an aspirant Ritu Singh are still at large.
