New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Friday held an interaction with members of a transgender community at the Delhi Secretariat as part of pre-budget consultations, assuring that their concerns will find reflection in the upcoming budget.

During the interactions, community representatives flagged key issues including employment opportunities, accessible healthcare, skill development, housing, sanitation and identity documentation. They stressed that targeted interventions could significantly improve inclusion and dignity.
Participants also welcomed the government’s decision to offer free travel in DTC buses through the ‘Saheli Pink Card’, calling it a step towards economic empowerment.
Gupta said the government is committed to ensuring the transgender community’s participation in building a “Viksit Delhi”, underlining that inclusive policymaking remains central to governance.
“The budget will reflect the aspirations of every section of society,” she said, adding that feedback from such consultations would shape a more equitable and responsive policy framework.
