Under ‘Operation Nanhe Faristey,’ which aims to rescue runaway, missing, and vulnerable children from railway premises, the division rescued and reunited 121 children (102 boys and 19 girls) with their families or handed them over to Child Welfare Committees and NGOs. This was the second-highest rescue count among all Central Railway divisions.

According to the railways, the RPF continued its humanitarian outreach through ‘Operation Dignity,’ which provided timely assistance and protection to vulnerable adults in distress. Across Central Railway, 85 adults were rescued during the four-month period. This group included women, runaway persons, mentally challenged individuals and those requiring medical help.

Simultaneously, under ‘Operation Jeevan Raksha’, Pune division recorded four life-saving incidents where passengers were rescued while attempting to board or de-board moving trains. Overall, 25 lives were saved across Central Railway during the period.

A senior RPF official from the Pune division said, “Rescuing children, helping distressed passengers and preventing accidents is a collective effort by our personnel working round the clock across stations and trains.”
