Pune: Over 60% land acquisition has been completed for the proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport in Purandar. Efforts are underway to resolve pending issues and speed up the remaining procedures, said officials.

The proposed project requires nearly 1,216 hectares, or around 3,040 acres, of land spread across seven villages in Purandar taluka. According to officials, consent affidavits have already been received for approximately 1,525 acres of land, indicating steady progress in the acquisition process. The administration has also begun disbursing compensation directly into farmers’ bank accounts as part of the acquisition settlement.
Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi said the administration is ensuring that the process remains transparent. “We have received consent affidavits for nearly 1,525 acres so far. In the last two weeks, compensation amounting to around ₹450 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers. Meetings are also being conducted with villagers and landowners to understand their concerns and ensure the acquisition process is completed smoothly,” Dudi said.
