At least 7,800 teachers from schools across Pune district will publish weekly teaching plans on the Acharya Vinoba Bhave application. Pune zilla parishad (ZP) has developed the app allows teachers to interact with each other, and share teaching material and best practices.

Ayush Prasad, chief executive officer (CEO), zilla parishad, said, “It is a platform for teachers to engage themselves with others from their fraternity and exchange teaching methods and techniques.”

“Each teacher has a unique identity and is linked to a 17-digit UDISE (Unified District Information for Education) code, a central government database project that records data of schools and students. Through the application, we are increasingly emphasising engagement and motivation, as a way to create widespread self-embracement to adoption and change. Through this programme, it will help in building alignment and increasing effectiveness of teaching methods and teachers,” said Prasad.

Shobha Khandare, principal, Pune District Institute of Education Training (DIET), said this activity will help teachers.

“Teachers from across the district will be able to share their knowledge and solve issues while teaching. They will be able to use each other’s experience to solve issues related to teaching methods by interacting with each other through the platform,” said Khandare.
