Pune: Following the coming together of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) and Nationalist Congress Party for the municipal elections, NCP (SP) leaders Supriya Sule and the party’s state unit president Shashikant Shindge will share the dais with the faction led by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar for the release of joint manifesto of both parties for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections on Saturday.

The event assumes significance as Ajit Pawar and his cousin Supriya Sule will appear together for the first time on a political stage after parting ways three years ago and NCP (SP) leaders were conspicuously absent during the poll campaigns led by Ajit Pawar in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
NCP president Ajit Pawar’s wife and Rajya Sabha member Sunetra Pawar will also attend the event, according to party members.
“Sule will remain present during the last phase of campaigning in Pune,” Ajit Pawar said on Friday.
Many NCP (SP) leaders are contesting the civic polls on clock symbol instead of a man playing trumpet.
